When you create a Chutes account, a unique fingerprint is generated. This fingerprint is your secure, cryptographic identity across Chutes. It functions similarly to a crypto wallet mnemonic and is essential for accessing and managing your account in a decentralized system.
No. For security reasons, your fingerprint is only displayed once at the time of account creation. After that moment, it cannot be viewed again, recovered, or regenerated by you or by Chutes support.
If you lose your fingerprint, you will permanently lose access to that Chutes account. This is a security design choice and cannot be bypassed.
We strongly recommend you:
Copy and paste the fingerprint into a secure location
Download the provided text file when it is offered
Save it in a password manager or encrypted document
If you lose your fingerprint and can no longer access your account, but you have an active paid subscription, we can help.
You will not be able to access your original account, but we can transfer your subscription to a new Chutes account that has a new fingerprint.
